Kathryn Alexander
About Kathryn Alexander: I have been fascinated with exercise my whole life. I am now a personal trainer/coach/strength enthusiast who has 18+ years as a personal trainer, a degree in kinesiology and a masters in exercise physiology.
But I was once a little girl who was just fascinated with exercise.
I begged my parents to let me go to the gym when I was young, and they bought me my first gym membership when I was 12. The whole fitness origin story is here, pictures and all.
I read fitness magazines, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding, and soaked up everything I could from the old timers at the gym who were very generous with their knowledge.
I kept reading the old muscle mags right through two degrees in exercise.
My life’s work has been studying anatomy, physiology, and psychology of training, to help people become healthier and stronger.
Developing Strength to Create an Abundant Life
While I heavily skew toward covering physical strength and health, I believe strength spills over into your whole life. Lift hard, eat well, build your relationships, and walk in your faith. If you do those things with discipline, you can radically change your whole life.
Who do I work with? Those who:
- lift weights and train hard
- are building their life into exactly the life they want to live and understand that strength can help them do this
- look beyond the mainstream for their information
- work hard, live well and squeeze everything out of life. As a friend once said, life’s not long but it sure is wide.
Let me help you lift smarter, look and feel better, and save time with a program designed just for you.

More About Kathryn Alexander
Where do you train clients? I train most of my clients out of Big Tex Gym, which is the most fun, friendly, happenin’ gym in Texas. Guaranteed!
Do you travel to clients? Yes! I train out of a few client’s homes. This of course depends on schedules lining up, and their equipment matching their goals.
What’s your favorite non-gym activity in Austin? Going to Barton Springs Pool, hands down.
What a random fact about you that people might not know? I’m a total book nerd. I do have piles of books I haven’t read, but I have piles I have! And I’m always looking for more. Send me your recommendations!
